Zephyr OS

The Zephyr OS is a modular, scalable platform designed for connected, resource-strained devices such as IoT.

  • As small as 8KB
  • Enables applications code to scale
  • Configurable
  • Modular

Zephyr OS is free software distributed under the Apache 2.0 open source license.  It's an open, transparent community project managed by the Linux Foundation.

The Xtensa port is maintained and supported by the Zephyr community.  Zephyr V1.7 (and newer) supports Xtensa LX7, Xtensa LX8, and Xtensa LX8-SMP processors.

The latest Tensilica fork of the mainline repository can be found here:  Xtensa FOSS Zephyr .  We recommend that all users of Xtensa LX8-SMP and any users new to Zephyr on Xtensa start here.

The Xtensa directory in the mainline repository can be found here:  Xtensa
